Creative Flow: Yoga for Artists

Rachel Applegate

Wednesday, 2-3 pm

Classes start on:

Apr. 9, 2025

Length of class:

1-day

Tap into your creativity with this accessible yoga class. We'll focus on releasing tension, especially in areas where artists commonly hold tightness - shoulders, neck, wrists and hands-- while opening up space for more freedom in mind and movement. You'll be guided through poses, breathwork, and meditation that invite creative energy to flow. All levels are welcome and you will be encouraged to move at your own pace. Bring your own mat.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Rachel Applegate is a 500 HR certified yoga teacher with a passion for making yoga accessible and sustainable for every body. Rachel currently teaches in-person and online gentle and chair yoga classes for older adults, perinatal yoga, slow flow yoga, and private one-on-one yoga lessons. She guides people to connect to themselves in a spacious, compassionate way through mindful movement and quiet stillness. She believes that the practice of yoga should not be performative, competitive, or dogmatic. She holds space for students to find what feels right for their own body by offering multiple variations for poses/movements in a non-hierarchical way. Rachel encourages students to use the tools of the yoga practice to find more ease and intention in daily living. When not teaching and practicing yoga, Rachel enjoys reading, baking, day hiking, and frequenting local coffee shops. A former art teacher, Rachel tries to carve out time to draw and paint. She lives in Phoenixville with her husband and three children.
